"Is marijuana like alcohol?"

From the beginning, marijuana arguments have relied on exaggeration.  For example, medical marijuana producers are often charmingly referred to as "farmers".  However in terms of medicine, medical marijuana producers are "drug manufacturers".  Their products are made to compete with other medicines such as opioids and aspirin.  But is marijuana like alcohol?

Think about how medicine, insurance, communications, and technology are different today compared to 1996.  If we were to start all over, could we do it without spreading abuse?

In 1996, when the people of California passed Proposition 215, medicine was radically different from what it is today.  The proposition was written for the seriously ill; so that marijuana could meet a medical need.  A couple of beers could not do this.
